Presenter: Rita Young, LMHC,CAP
Rita is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Addictions Professional (CAP). She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling Psychology. Rita is also a graduate of the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy, the only State certified Hypnotherapy College in Florida.
She is a highly skilled therapist with over 25 years experience. She has worked with children, teens and adults. Rita has worked at Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers, Residential Treatment Centers, Group Homes, Psychiatric Wards, and Out Patient Clinics. She is accomplished in individual, couples, family and group therapy.
Rita’s expertise includes, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), Hypnotherapy, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Additionally, she is experienced in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and RESET Therapy.

Program Description
During this course the topic of memory reconsolidation will be discussed, along with an introduction to the Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device (BAUD). Attendees will learn techniques that enhance the effectiveness of the BAUD and will get a chance to practice in mock-counseling settings. This beginning level program is targeted for Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, Psychologists, and Counselors. You will receive 6.5 CEs for this program.
Program Objectives
Upon successful completing of the course participants will/be able to:
- Apply their working knowledge of BAUD protocol proficiently in the treatment of trauma and other difficult emotions.
- Define the process of memory reconsolidation and how the BAUD is used in this process.
- Obtain skills (tools) to interrupt various reactions clients may have when recalling charged emotions. i.e. abreactions, flashbacks, panic, etc.
- Experience hands on practice using the BAUD with a Colleague.
- Have the personal experience of the BAUD being used with one of their own problematic emotions or memories.
- Understand the history of the BAUD and be able to explain how it works.
- Receive an informed consent example to use with their clients.
